THE PROJECT
More than a clubhouse.
Airlie Beach Yacht Club is being established as a permanent home for membership, sailing, competition, hospitality and community life in the Whitsundays.
The proposed A$24 million development combines a purpose-designed Yacht Club with a state-of-the-art multi-level public car park facility, substantial outdoor recreation areas, pool and cabanas, member facilities, hospitality and supporting infrastructure within one waterfront precinct.
The objective is to create an institution specifically for Airlie Beach: contemporary in its architecture, active on the water and capable of serving the wider region for decades.
ARCHITECTURE
Designed from the waterfront out.
Peddle Thorp Architecture & Design is developing the proposed Clubhouse as a contemporary response to Airlie Beach, its tropical climate and the Whitsunday waterfront.
Broad rooflines, deep shade, covered terraces and strong indoor-outdoor connections organise the building around arrival, marina views, member life and hospitality.
Architecture, landscape and interiors are being developed as one complete experience.
DEVELOPER-APPOINTED DESIGN TEAM

Brookfields ABYC Pty Ltd appointed Peddle Thorp Architecture & Design as the architectural and landscape design firm, and Hernán Arriaga as interior designer for the proposed Airlie Beach Yacht Club.

THE OUTDOOR CLUB
A Club designed to live outside as well as in.
The pool, cabanas, shaded terraces and landscaped outdoor areas are conceived as part of the Club's social and recreational heart.
Rather than treating the exterior as leftover space, the design connects hospitality, recreation and the waterfront through outdoor settings suited to the tropical climate.

ABYC is being conceived as permanent infrastructure that can support sailing, competition, hospitality, membership and major occasions long after the region's 2032 opportunity.
ABYC is not represented as an official Olympic or Paralympic venue, partner or sponsor.

MEMBERSHIP
Join the life of the Club.
Membership is intended to connect people through sailing, competition, dining, recreation, Club occasions and community relationships.
Boat ownership will not be required, and final eligibility and benefits will be governed by the approved framework.

A permanent place in the Club's beginning.
Founding Membership recognises those selected to support the establishment of ABYC and its early membership culture.
Final allocations, rights, benefits and terms are governed through the approved programme.

The Foundation's role is distinct from the property-development entity.
